  • About the Refugee Caselaw Site

This site was created through a collaboration among several departments of the University of Michigan, Microsoft, and LEXIS-NEXIS. It was designed to be viewed with Internet Explorer 5.0 and/or Netscape 7.X or later. The site uses Microsoft's Internet Information Server, as well as two separate methods for searching. Full text searches are done with Microsoft's Internet Index Server and Adobe's PDF IFilter plug-in to allow for searching the text of PDF files. Searches are done via ASP on a SQL Database Server.

Using Adobe Acrobat Reader

All of the cases on this site are stored in the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). To read and print the documents, you need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader. To take full advantage of the site, we recommend using the Acrobat Reader with Search, which is an enhanced version of Acrobat Reader that allows you to search inside of PDF files.

Get Adobe Acrobat Reader

You can download the current version of Adobe's Acrobat Reader. When downloading, make sure to check the checkbox labeled "Include option for searching PDF files."
